Handcrafted for Giants. Built to Burn.

Handcrafted in Acworth, Georgia by Mike Bucca, the Bull Shad Slow Sink is a multi-jointed swimbait designed to perfectly mimic gizzard shad and other baitfish that trophy bass feed on. Featuring a rough, unpolished finish for natural realism, this lure’s three-jointed body creates an ultra-lifelike swimming motion at any retrieve speed. Outfitted with premium Owner hardware and swivel hook hangers, the Bull Shad is built to land the largest bass without compromise.

Key Features
    • Realistic Swimming Action — Three-jointed body produces natural “S” curves from slow crawls to burning retrieves.

    • Feeding Pose Option — Can be jigged nose-down to mimic bottom-feeding baitfish.

    • Premium Hardware — Equipped with Black Chrome Owner hooks and Owner Hyper Wire split rings.

    • Swivel Hook Hangers — Reduces a fish’s leverage to throw the hook.

    • Handcrafted Details — Includes 3D eyes and a color-shifting finish for unmatched realism.

    • Slow Sink Buoyancy — Versatile depth coverage; can be burned shallow, crawled mid-water, or allowed to nose down.

Best Use & Conditions
    • Target Species: Trophy largemouth bass, smallmouth bass.

    • Techniques:

      • Burning Retrieve: Fast, steady retrieve to mimic fleeing baitfish.

      • Slow Crawl: Slow roll for colder water or lethargic fish.

      • Jigging Pose: Nose-down on bottom to imitate feeding shad.

      • Surface Wake: Retrieve just under the surface to pull strikes.

    • Seasonal Notes: Especially deadly in fall during shad chases; effective year-round with retrieve speed adjustments.

Rigging & Tips
    • Line Setup: 17–25 lb fluorocarbon or 50–65 lb braid with leader recommended for strength.

    • Rod Pairing: Heavy power, moderate-fast swimbait rod for casting larger sizes.

    • Pro Tip: Tune swimbait tails by dipping in boiling water to reset shape if bent. Store flat to avoid warping.

Brand Origin & Maker

Bull Shad Swimbaits was founded by Georgia guide Mike Bucca in 2006 after years of developing lures to match Southern baitfish forage. Frustrated by trout-style swimbaits dominating the market, Bucca hand-built the Bull Shad to imitate gizzard and threadfin shad. Today, Bull Shad remains an Independent American Crafter, producing hand-poured, durable swimbaits trusted by trophy bass hunters across the country.

Pack Count / Variants
    • Sold Individually — One handcrafted swimbait per package.

    • Variants: 4", 5", 6", 7", 8", 9", and 11" sizes; multiple natural shad and forage-inspired colorways.

Care & Storage
    • Rinse after use and dry before storage.

    • Keep swimbait tails flat to prevent warping.

    • Avoid cramped storage boxes to protect joints and finish.

    • Adjust sink rate with external weight modifications if desired.
