4" Hand-Poured Finesse Bait (12-Pack)

The Drop Shot Shad delivers a natural shad profile with subtle, injured-baitfish action that convinces tight-lipped fish. Hand-poured in the USA in small batches, its slender body and floating tail tremble with the slightest line twitch—perfect for finesse approaches in clear water, pressured lakes, and cold fronts.

  • 4" finesse profile – Deadly for smallmouth, largemouth, and spotted bass; effective for crappie and panfish.

  • Versatile rigging – Excels on drop shot, NED rig, and split-shot presentations.

Best Use & Conditions
  • Clear or Pressured Water: Subtle tail quiver seals the deal when fish are wary.

  • Cold Fronts & Suspended Fish: Keep the bait in the strike zone and let the floating tail work.

  • Multi-Species: Ideal around bait schools, rock transitions, breaks, docks, and bluff walls.

Rigging & Tips
  • Drop Shot (primary):

    • Hook: #2–#1 nose hook; leader 12–24".

    • Weight: 1/8–1/4 oz (go heavier for wind/current).

    • Presentation: Hold the bait in place and barely shake—let the tail do the talking.

  • NED Rig:

    • 1/16–1/8 oz stand-up head. Cast, let it settle, and gently tick the bottom; most bites come on the pause.

  • Split-Shot:

    • Light weight ahead of the bait; slow-drag or hop to imitate a weakened shad struggling near cover.

  • Color Match:

    • Natural shad/green pumpkin in clear water; add orange/laminate hues for stained water visibility.

Care & Storage
  • Store flat in the original bag to preserve shape and buoyancy.

  • Keep away from heat/direct sun to prevent warping.

  • Avoid mixing with heavily dyed plastics to reduce color bleed.
